New plays are focus of Globe fest
Freshly minted works of drama by both established playwrights and first-timers are the focus of the New Voices Festival, the Old Globe Theatre’s just-announced series of new-play readings.
The free fest, scheduled for Dec. 13-15, will spotlight works by three professionals: JC Lee (“Luce”), David West Read (“The Great Pretender”) and Madhuri Shekar (“A Nice Indian Boy”).
It also will showcase plays coming out of an initiative launched in 2012: The Old Globe Community Voices, which guides San Diegans through the creation of works for the stage
