I’m very proud to have written this feature article for Hinduism Today Magazine with Hari Venkatachalam. We worked on it for nearly a year to provide a comprehensive yet accessible introduction to LGBT issues, lives and stories in the Hindu tradition. I learned a lot and was heartened by the generous support of the magazine’s editorial team. Do give it a read if you can. Features an interview with one of my favorite performance artists and human beings, D’Lo.
Me: I don’t like the whole arranged marriage process. It’s like finding a husband through a series of job interviews.
Mom: It is a job! Marriage is like a government job. And the government won’t give you a job after you’re 30.
Is it crass to reblog yourself? I don’t care. This is one of the funniest things my mom’s ever said.
